Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Simpl Finance MCP, operated by Simpl Finances LLC. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

What the service does

Simpl Finance MCP connects your bank accounts, through Plaid, to an AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol. Your assistant can read your transactions, balances, accounts and spending by category.

Access is read-only. The service cannot move money, open or close accounts, or change anything at your bank.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract.
• You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure.
• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• You may only connect financial accounts you own or are authorised to access.
• One person per account. Do not share your connector token.

Billing

Simpl Finance MCP costs $10 per month or $100 per year, in US dollars, charged in advance. A subscription is required before you can connect a bank account.

• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current paid period. You keep access until then, and you may resume before it lapses.
• We do not provide automatic refunds for partial periods. If something has gone wrong, write to us — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.
• If a payment fails we will retry. Access continues during that period, and ends if payment cannot be taken.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscriptions keep their price until the next renewal.
• Applicable sales tax may be added at checkout.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Connect accounts you do not own or have permission to access
• Share your connector token, or resell access to the service
• Attempt to access another user's data
• Circumvent rate limits, or use the service in a way that degrades it for others
• Use the service for anything unlawful

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

Third-party services

The service depends on Plaid for bank connections, Stripe for payments, and whichever AI assistant you choose to connect. Each has its own terms, and your use of them is governed by those terms rather than these.

We are not responsible for what your AI assistant's provider does with the data it receives. When your assistant requests your financial data, that data enters their system under their policies. Review them before connecting.

No financial advice

Simpl Finance MCP provides access to your own financial data. It does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Neither do we, and neither does the AI assistant you connect — regardless of how confident it sounds.

Do not rely on it for decisions with real consequences without checking the underlying figures. Data comes from your bank via Plaid and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Balances in particular reflect your bank's most recent sync rather than a live reading. Your bank's own records are authoritative.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. It depends on Plaid, Stripe, your bank and your AI provider, any of which may fail or change. We may modify or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or decisions made using information obtained through the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

Ending your account

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion cancels your subscription, revokes your bank connections with Plaid, revokes access for any connected AI assistant, and removes your data. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, non-payment, or where required by law. Where practical we will give notice.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to you before taking effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Utah County, Utah.
